The English Bull Terrier....
This page is dedicated to my English Bull Terrier, Alfie. I shall document my experience of living with an English Bull Terrier, caring for English Bull Terriers and other tips and hints I have learnt living with English Bull Terriers. I bought him in September 2008, when the bull terrier was 13 weeks old. A couple of things I picked up on straight away; he seemed a very confident english bull terrier, and appeared very settled from day 1. His temperament was extremely placid, typical of the English Bull terrier. There were no cries or whines at night, and he was pretty much house trained from the outset. If our english bull terrier wants to go to the toilet, he will whine at the back door but not bark. from the beginning actually there was very little noise from our English Bull Terrier, I'm not sure if the is typical or not of all english bull terriers. Alfie our English Bull TerrierAlfie the English bull terrier has been socialised from the moment he had been fully vaccinated. Our bull terrier walked confidently off the lead from the start and stayed close. He didn't seem to be interested in walking at first, quite happy to stroll along with us. It is a different story now....English Bull Terriers seem to get obsessed with things; sticks, balls, tuggy toys etc. I don't know if it is the age of our English Bull Terrier or that this is typical behaviour of the bully breed. We have attended puppy classes with our English bull terrier from about 14 weeks, which have gone well. Mainly to learn basic dog training techniques but also to benefit from the socialisation aspect. Alfie was the only Enlish Bull terrier in the group; his sit, stay and recall commands have been good, but outside of the classroon Alfie the English bull terrier is not so obedient.
