My Style and approach to your dayPlease note: The following outlines a typical itinerary as to how my day will unfold as the wedding photographer; it is only an example and of course your personal shooting script may differ acording to your own needs, requirements and location. The Female Contingent!Depending on logistics, I will usually start the days' wedding photography with the bride and her bridesmaids (this maybe at her house or at the wedding venue). My shooting style will be very unobtrusive, working in the background, capturing the emotion and tension as it unfolds. This is also a good time to take some informal portraits of the bride and her party. The bride will also start to relax in front of the camera in this relaxed atmosphere (essential for honest and pure photographic coverage). If appropriate, I will also get pictures of the dress, shoes, flowers etc. If logistics allow, I may have time to photograph the groom in preparation too. The Wedding VenueNext stop is the wedding venue, allowing plenty of time to photograph 'lead in' shots (wedding pictures of the venue itself, the grounds and the reception table decorations). At a pre-arranged time I'll meet with the groom and his wedding entourage, and, using a variety of locations and props capture a mix of formal and relaxed images. Informal shots of guests arriving are also completed at this stage of the wedding celebrations. The Wedding CeremonyWhen all wedding guests and grooms' party are inside, I will spend time with the bride and bridesmaids upon arrival at the wedding venue. Apart from requested formal groups of the above, I will step back at this stage, working as unobtrusively as possible. During the wedding ceremony, I'll work without flash to capture the intimacy and emotion of this key period. Signing of the register is next, usually a mix of formal and informal techniques. After the Main EventIf the weather is on our side, we will then move to an appropriate location to shoot the groups (if requested). I'll then take a step back and capture the excitement and celebration, splitting my time between bride/groom and wedding party. At a point conveneint for all concerned, I'll also spend some one to one time with the bride and groom away from the main party. I always work as quickly as possible so as not to untrude on your wedding day celebrations. (If the weather is not so kind to us, I will use locations within the venue using a variety of photography techniques, including natural light photography, bounced flash photography and studio light photography. Wedding BreakfastThis is your time and I will endeavour to capture the speeches and guests at their tables as unobtrusively as possible. It is always a lively part of the celebrations and a great oportunity for me to capture the fun! I will also photograph the cake/cakes separately and with bride/groom as appropriate. Evening CelebrationsDuring this period I step back and capture all of the fun and excitment as it unfolds; dancing, drinking! throwing the bouquet, photographing the musicians, and never taking my eye off the whereabouts of the stars; the bride and groom. My work usually finishes after the first dance, but as always, I can finish at a time convenient for you!

Wedding Photography in Cornwall by Kevin Staniforth Ba(h).Kevin's style of wedding photography will be taylored to the needs of you the customer. "I hope the wedding gallery, and the pictures I have included show my style and approach, and how it can be revised and adjusted to the individual. I have found with many of my recent wedding bookings that customers' wedding decisions are as different and unique to them as choosing a honeymoon. People wear fancy dress, take their wedding guests on boat trips around Charlestown and Fowey, re arrange the wedding photography shooting script so that needs of the individual can be met." The pictures included in the wedding photography gallery are a mix of colour wedding photography, black and white wedding photography, sepia wedding photography and the mix of both a more formal approach and a more relaxed reportage style of wedding photography. During your day, Kevin will use his expertise, experience and judgement as to mix as many of the above mentioned wedding photography styles to achieve a result which reflects the customers' neeeds and requirements. The Wedding Photography Shooting ScriptAfter an initial consultation Kevin will design a wedding photography 'shooting script' that will include key images and a style and approach agreed beforehand. The key images are those pictures that provide the framework for the wedding photography story as it unfolds. Good examples are the bride and groom standing in the church door, looking back at the wedding photographer, the bride and groom walking through an avenue of wedding aprty guests as they throw confetti. Key images are important in that they are a visual reminder of what the day is about. They hold the story of your wedding day together, in much the same way that chapters do in written text. Wedding Photography Style and approach at Venues in CornwallMy style and approach will also depend on your wedding venue. If you have chosen a traditional church wedding ceremony and reception, then there will be parameters that my wedding photography will have to adhere to. In between key photography shots I will step back and work in the background, capturing the emotion and tension among the wedding entourage. Weddings at venues such as hotels and country clubs lend themselves to a more relaxed style of wedding photography. The ceremony will be taylored to the individual and the itinerary can vary from one wedding client to the next. My photography will adapt to the environment in which I am working; being flexible and being able to improvise is crucial to my wedding photography. |
